Thank you for using The Plant Based Living Hub. We offer an online hub that allows you to connect with plant based businesses throughout New Zealand. It’s also a place for you to learn about plant based living and it provides the tools you need to help you transition to a plant based lifestyle.
Who we are
The Plant Based Living Hub is a New Zealand registered limited liability company, registered business name: Plant Based Living Ltd.
We operate this website www.plantbasedlivinghub.co.nz (and the domain plantbasedlivinghub.nz) and all pages within these domains. We also have two social media accounts: Facebook (www.facebook.com/plantbasedlivinghub) and Instagram (@plantbasedlivinghub).
We strongly believe in protecting the privacy of any personal information provided to us by our members or by people visiting our website and other online services and as such, this Privacy Policy (herein referred to as the “Policy”) outlines how we collect, use, disclose and store your personal information and advises you on how you can access that information.
This Policy applies to our obligations under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

If your business is referred to us via the Suggest a Business page on our website, or if other plant based businesses recommend you to us, we will send you a link to your new profile containing your business details and seek approval to retain the page along with any personal information that is required in order for us to do business with you.
Unless you give us permission to reuse your personal information (e.g. holding employment application documentation on file for future employment opportunities), we hold this information for as long as it is required for the purpose for which it was provided. We then destroy or de-identify personal information unless we are otherwise required or authorised by law to retain the information.
We also collect non-identifiable information, when you engage with our website, such as:
- Your device ID, device type and information, geo-location information, Internet Protocol (IP) address and standard web log information. This information is manged with regular rotational purges.
- We use Google Analytics software to help measure traffic patterns to, from, and within our website. This service is used to anonymously aggregate website statistics such as number of page views, the number of visitors, time spent on our site, browser types, and common entry and exit points into and from the website. All information is aggregated by Google Analytics and provided to us to help us better understand usage of our website — no individual visitors are identified. Google Analytics is a leader in the industry and their systems have been adopted as an accepted website traffic measurement standard amongst major websites. Currently we use Facebook and Instagram. - Unique Identifiers — we do not use any customer numbers to identify you or your business and have no plans to implement this in the future.

We do not and will never disclose any personal information you provide to us to any outside parties without your permission, unless it is necessary for us to do so in order to carry out our service to you, for example with our:

Hard copies of personally identifiable information are contained within a locked filing cabinet.

When uploading your business media to our site, such as listing photos and videos, please be aware that these media files are viewable to the public and publicly accessible. Plant Based Living Ltd reserves the right to use these images or videos for their own promotional use, such as across our website and social media accounts for marketing purposes only. We take care to ensure that uploaded images do not contain geo-location information.

If you make a complaint, we aim to respond within 5 business days to acknowledge your complaint at which time we will let you know how long we will take to resolve your complaint.
