Climate and Health Alliance

The Climate and Health Alliance is Australia’s peak body on climate and health. CAHA is a coalition of 100+ health and medical groups, academic and research institutions, health care service providers and unions.

Since 2010, CAHA has employed effective evidence-based advocacy, a collaborative approach and a willingness to engage professionals, policymakers and media. Today, our Alliance has achieved national and global recognition. 

By working together, the health sector can lead action on climate to protect our health.

Doctors For Nutrition

Established in 2018, Doctors For Nutrition is an Australasian health-promotion charity led by medical and dietetic professionals dedicated to bringing food back to healthcare.

Doctors For Nutrition advocates to stakeholders across the healthcare sector from government to key peak bodies, to highlight the powerful evidence in favour of whole food plant-based nutrition to prevent, alleviate and even reverse disease. 

Powerful evidence shows that a whole food plant-based eating pattern can prevent, reverse, or significantly reduce the disability caused by a wide range of diseases. And yet what we eat has long been overlooked and dismissed in mainstream medical intervention.

The Doctors For Nutrition team is working to equip healthcare practitioners, institutions and the public in our region with evidence-based information and education on optimum human nutrition.

Our goal is a to transform our society and healthcare system through the life-changing power of whole plant-based food.

Forks Over Knives

Forks Over Knives

The documentary film Forks Over Knives debuted in 2011 and examines the profound claim that most, if not all, of the chronic diseases that afflict us can be controlled or even reversed by rejecting animal-based and processed foods.

Since 2011, Forks Over Knives has released four additional books, launched a mobile recipe app and maintains a website filled with the latest research, recipes, and tools to help people at every phase of their plant-based journeys. The team has grown and launched a cooking course, a meal planner, a line of food products, and a magazine. We are committed to changing the way the world sees and approaches nutrition.

Meat Free Monday

Meat Free Monday

For animals, people and planet. Having at least one plant-based day a week is a fun and easy way to do something good for the planet and our future.

Launched by Paul, Mary and Stella McCartney in 2009, Meat Free Monday is a not-for-profit campaign which aims to raise awareness of the detrimental environmental impact of animal agriculture and industrial fishing.

The campaign encourages people to help slow climate change, conserve precious natural resources and improve their health by having at least one plant-based day each week.

NutritionFacts.org is a science-based nonprofit organisation founded by Michael Greger, M.D. FACLM, that provides free updates on the latest in nutrition research via bite-sized videos, blogs, podcasts, and infographics. We offer a strictly non-commercial public service, without any sponsors, ads, brand partnerships, or paid subscriptions. More than 2,000 videos on virtually every aspect of healthy eating are already available online, and new videos and blogs are uploaded every day. We also disseminate fact-based information through social media on the benefits of a whole food, plant-based diet for wellness, disease prevention, healthy weight management, and longevity.
